IMA1 - Performance Problem Statement & Job Aid

Prior to starting school last semester, I worked as an administrative assistant for a church. About 2 years ago, we implemented a new church management software, called Realm, for members and church leadership to stay connected with each other, maintain their personal information, stay informed of events, and provide online giving capability.

One issue we ran into is that attendance for some of our small group meetings was not always done or if it was, may not have been done accurately. Our small group leaders and their assistants are responsible for entering the attendance during their class meeting time.

Maintaining proper attendance records is important because attendance numbers have an impact on planning for events, activities, and the budget. Thus, attendance needs to be done accurately and on time. I have determined that one of the causes for the attendance not being taken is that either the attendance taker doesn’t know how to do it or has forgotten how to do so.  

I believe a job aid would serve as a refresher and would allow attendance takers to quickly access information on how to record the attendance. The job aid provides step by step instructions and includes screenshots on how to take attendance accurately in Realm.
